Alternative Spring Break Days : MARCH 12-16 2018...


Thank you so much for supporting the efforts of our dedicated Growers.  This event help make the operation of the Garden possible. This Event is especially important as it will help us grow  more food for our Program to feed those in need in our Area as a garden grower for Katies' Krops and James "Chef Jimmy" Graves Kid's Cooking Club.

   Day  THEMES Events


GOAL: Support students in identifying what they do and not know and understand about high level "Food as Health" – My Plate to connect to community service.

GOAL: understanding of the history, benefits, and components of a rainwater harvesting system and partner with community members to rebuildand improve a rainwater harvesting system .

GOAL: understanding
 the use of solar energy,its benefits, and components in a garden setting- Learn sun/energy in other language. Work on Greenhouse Build.

The  GardenKids of Kemah invite you to participate in Alternative Spring Break (ASB) Days.


Alternative Spring Break (ASB) is a different way to spend Spring Break.  Days of hands-on service, leadership-building and relationship-building in projects that give Back to Others.

There will be Themed Days to Serve and Learn. We will explore about pollinator plants, water conservation, soil science solar energy, and good garden insects such as bees. You will leave with a start your own butterfly or bee friendly plant along with working in the Garden.  

Taste fantastic seasonal produce raised by the Gardenkids of Kemah and local market products prepared before their eyes. There is something for everyone, no matter your cooking or gardening skill.  You will  Be part of something to help the protect the environment and take home your own seeds to get started.  You do not want to miss it!
