The GardenKids of Kemah are proud to Co-Host the Texas Garden Club -District IV Spring Convention. The Theme this year is Dining al Fresco. Come and enjoy a great meal by James "Chef Jimmy" Graves. Our Celebrity Chef, Mary Eisenhour Bass will give a cooking demonstration and give dining outdoors tips. Chef Mary Bass is a first runner up winner on the Food Network cooking competition show “Cutthroat Kitchen. She is Executive Chef at Haak Vineyards & Winery. She holds membership with the Chaine des Rotisseurs and recently was awarded by Galveston.com as “Best Chef Galveston, 2015”.
This demonstration will be truly amazing because you will see local produce prepared by our areas finest Chefs. Come and taste fantastic seasonal produce raised by the Gardenkids of Kemah and local market products prepared before their eyes.
There is something for everyone, no matter your cooking or gardening skill. You will find that it doesn’t take hours to prepare “food from scratch”. You do not want to miss it!
Thank you so much for supporting the efforts of our dedicated Growers. A Portion of the proceeds from tickets sales help make the operation of the Garden possible. Every Ticket to the Event helps pays for a greenhouse, tool shed repairs, seeds, transplants, tools, gloves, and even soil. This Concert is especially important as it will help us grow more food for our Program to feed the Homeless in our Area as a volunteer group for the Mercy Tree and James "Chef Jimmy" Graves Kid's Cooking Club.
